Windermere Estate

Windermere Estate is a master planned community located 38km south-west of the Melbourne CBD in Mambourin.

Overview

Windermere Estate is a master planned community located 38km south-west of the Melbourne CBD in Mambourin. With over 4,700 proposed house lots across 350 hectares, this estate will ultimately be a home to over 15,000 residents. Windermere Estate proposed to have over 50 ha of open space area including creeks, a sports reserve and a playground for the local community.

Scope

Rokon was engaged to construct Stages 5-8 of residential stages housing over 200 lots, including early earthworks on Stages 15 & 16. This contract initially included bulk earthworks, drainage, sewer, gas main supply connection from Mambourin Estate to Windermere Estate and all associated infrastructure services to service all homes for future residents. Rokon has now been engaged to construct Windermere Wetlands and recently awarded Stage 9-12, 15 & 16, construction of major intersections on Ison Road, Branch Sewer & Melbourne Water Drainage Outfall for Windermere & Mambourin Estate, and associated works on Wetlands Waterway Section 2.

Stages 17 to 21 will include bulk earthworks, installation of drainage, sewer pipeline, services, road pavement and concreting works for 568 housing lots.  Our team will also be constructing the Black Forest Road and Ison Road signalled intersection.

Stages 22 – 27 will include 360 new residential housing lots and bulk earthworks.

Outcome

Rokon has been working closely with Risland, stakeholders, council and service authorities to ensure we continue to produce quality work. We’ve worked closely with Dalton Consulting Engineers to explore a cost effective proposal for any works, be it design or construction perspective. For example, utilising on site crushed material for material re-use on infrastructure and utilising on site derived material to enhance the wetlands and floodway system.
