Grand Central Estate Precinct B: A Milestone in Partnership

The completion of Grand Central Estate Precinct B for our long-term client, Stockland, marks a significant milestone in the ongoing partnership between Rokon and Stockland. This ambitious residential development project has been a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire team involved. Let’s take a closer look at the key highlights and achievements of the Grand Central Estate Precinct B project.

Impressive Scale:

  • Spanning across a vast area of 170,000 square meters, Grand Central Estate Precinct B provides ample space for residential development.
  • The project involved the creation of 222 housing lots, two wetlands, and four open spaces for future parks and medium-density lots.

Construction Highlights:

  • Approximately 76,000 cubic meters of dirt were moved, placed, and exported offsite during the earthworks phase, ensuring the land was prepared for construction.
  • Rokon purchased and placed close to 42,000 tonnes of pavement materials, providing a solid foundation for the development.
  • A staggering 6,500 tonnes of asphalt were laid, ensuring smooth and durable road surfaces throughout the estate.
  • Concrete works involved pouring approximately 3,800 cubic meters of concrete for footpaths, laneways, driveways, curbs, and stormwater drainage pits, resulting in sturdy infrastructure.

Efficient Stormwater Management:

  • Up to 5 kilometers of stormwater pipes were installed, ensuring efficient management of water runoff within the estate.

Reliable Water and Sewerage Systems:

  • Roadbridge Excavation successfully installed and commissioned up to 3,300 linear meters of watermain reticulation, ensuring a reliable water supply.
  • Pescatore Construction played a crucial role in installing and commissioning up to 2,300 linear meters of sewerage reticulation, ensuring efficient waste management.

Enhancement of Wetland Areas:

  • Two Gross Pollutant Traps (GPT) were installed in both wetlands, supplied by SPEL Stormwater & Ocean Protect, to maintain water quality and protect the environment.
  • The construction of a block retaining wall in Wetland East and a piling retaining wall in Wetland West allowed the creation of a scenic walking trail along the waterway.

Overcoming Challenges:

  • Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, supply chain disruptions, and inclement weather during the summer period, the Grand Central Estate Precinct B project successfully overcame these obstacles.
  • Titles for Stages 13 and 14 were officially lodged in early June, before the end of the financial year, highlighting the dedication and hard work of the site personnel and management team.

Celebrating Success:

  • In recognition of the efforts invested by the Grandview and Grand Central crew, Stockland will host a BBQ event at Wattle Park Estate on Friday, July 7th, as a token of appreciation for the site personnel and management team.

Looking Ahead:

  • Building on the success of Grand Central Estate Precinct B, Rokon’s ongoing commitment and strong relationship with Stockland will lead to the commencement of Grand Central Precinct C (Stage 15, 16, 17, 18 & 19) in August this year.
  • This continued collaboration underscores Rokon’s expertise in delivering high-quality residential developments.

The completion of Grand Central Estate Precinct B showcases the successful collaboration between Rokon and Stockland. Despite challenges, this project demonstrates the team’s commitment and expertise. As the journey continues with Grand Central Precinct C, the partnership between Rokon and Stockland remains strong, reaffirming our commitment to providing exceptional living spaces for the community.
